Norman recently completed filming the title starring role in a multilingual film involving an international cast and crew. More updates will be provided as it is released.
His most recent major theatre role was an 80-performance run playing the lead role of Zhang Lin in the Chicago premiere of the Jeff-Recommended award-winning play CHIMERICA by Lucy Kirkwood. Reviewers hailed Norman's performance as "Gutsy...deftly handled...alternatingly charming and heartbreaking...one of the truest things I've seen on stage in a long time." It was produced by TimeLine Theatre and directed by award-winning director Nick Bowling. More info at http://www.timelinetheatre.com/chimerica/
A relatively recent transplant to Chicago from Canada, Norman is grateful to have played co-starring television roles in NBC's CHICAGO MED as well as AIR EMERGENCY and the comedic FUSION Channel special ICONIC IMAGES OF ELECTION 2016. Other notable roles in recent productions including the lead role of Duyi in the feature SHADOWS OF DEATH, the series regular role of Doug in the comedy pilot NOT YOUR AVERAGE BILL, and three roles in the show MY ASIAN MOM at Chicago Dramatists, the most notable being the role of Indira, an East Indian mother...his first role performed in drag.
An actor with years of experience, Norman has had the privilege to play many lead roles in film, television, and theatre. With classical theatre training as well as an improv background from IO and Second City Chicago, Norman is a versatile actor who continues to challenge himself to find the truth in any role he is playing, be it dramatic, comedic, or otherwise.
On the personal side, Norman enjoys traveling, the most notable recent places visited being Dubai, Athens, and Istanbul. He is a certified scuba diver who has dived in Bermuda without getting lost and has also jumped out of a perfectly good plane at 4000 ft by himself, not attached to anyone, and lived to tell the tale. He is a McGill University and Robbins Research Mastery University graduate.
